Hot Aisle Containment Solutions focus on isolating hot exhaust air and close coupling it to the return of the computer room air conditioner (CRAC). This method of containment is clearly the trend for most new enterprise data center builds. Hot Aisle Containment (HAC) works well with “air side economizer” systems which use “outside air” to cool the supply side of the room. Isolating and containing the hot air also makes the general access area of the data center more comfortable for humans.

AFCO Systems fabricates and designs all of our containment solutions at our factories. Many “containment companies” use third party fabricators adding cost and lead time to your order.

Hot Aisle Containment deploys a physical barrier that guides hot exhaust air from IT equipment back to the return of the cooling system. In some design applications, the hot exhaust air can be expelled from the building or even re-routed to warm other areas for creature comfort. HAC can increase cooling efficiency by 30% or more. Cost savings can be achieved in many ways, including; adjustments in temperature and humidity set points, lower fan speeds and higher chilled water temperatures.
