AFCO SYSTEMS RECEIVES 2006 FROST & SULLIVAN TECHNOLOGY INNOVATION OF THE YEAR AWARD
AFCO Air-cooled Enclosures Shape Today’s Datacenters
Farmingdale, NY, September 12, 2006 — AFCO Systems, the global leader in integrated enclosure systems for mission-critical datacenters, has been awarded the 2006 Power Quality & Power Supplies Frost & Sullivan Technology Innovation of the Year Award for the introduction of Max-IT™, Kool-IT™ and Extreme High-Density (EHD) cabinets for datacenters.
The Frost & Sullivan Award for Technology Innovation of the Year is given to the company that has demonstrated technological superiority within its industry. This award recognizes the ability of the company to successfully develop and introduce new technology, formulate a well-designed product family and make significant product performance contributions to the industry.
“AFCO Systems has developed a technology that facilitates the individual enclosure systems capacity to dissipate heat loads far and above those that have been dissipated by using standard Hot-Aisle/Cold-Aisle deployment practices,” states Muthiah Arunachalam, research analyst at Frost & Sullivan. “The development and launch of these products have clearly differentiated AFCO Systems from its competitors and enabled it to make significant product performance contributions to the industry. Hence, we deem AFCO Systems to be a worthy recipient of the 2006 Technology Innovation of the Year Award.”
“This award is a fantastic honor and is an absolute reflection of our employees’ talent and dedication to our company’s mission,” said Michael Mallia, AFCO Systems’ president and CEO.
AFCO’s technology has the capacity of handling large thermal loads of up to 20 kilowatts. The performances of these products have allowed some of the world’s most prestigious companies to dramatically upgrade key systems in their datacenters. Currently, eight of the Fortune 50 companies (as ranked by Fortune Magazine’s July 24, 2006 issue) are using at least one of AFCO Systems’ standardized products — illustrating AFCO Systems’ reputation in the industry.
