To meet the challenge of increasing cabling in the datacenter and the negative impact cabling has on thermal capacity — heat dissipation in the enclosure — AFCO continued in our tradition of innovation by taking cable management to a whole different space, literally, with Sidecar technology.

AFCO’s Sidecar technology is an external cable management solution for AFCO’s Passive, HD and EHD enclosures that takes the bulk of cabling and power out of the enclosure and into a Sidecar for better cable management and enclosure performance.

The Sidecar is designed to maximize the useable space within your enclosure. AFCO’s Sidecar technology moves the communication and power cables, including patch panels, outside of the cabinet frame, resulting in an increase of useable enclosure space by up to 33%.

The Sidecar comes in widths from 6” to 12” and can be mounted to every enclosure or several in a row, as needed. The functionality can be further increased and cable congestion better managed with the addition of overhead cable troughs to create a high-density cable management solution.

This technology was designed to provide the ultimate in flexibility to accommodate all different cabling schemes. Data or power cables can be configured to be managed either in the front or back of each Sidecar, providing you with almost any combination you can imagine that suits your environment.
